BENGALI TEL KOI RECIPE.
INGREDIENTS-
- koi mach (4 pieces).
- 1 big sized onion (chopped).
- 1 medium sized tomato (chopped).
- 2 green chillies.
- coriander leaves (chopped).
- 1 tablespoon ginger garlic paste.
- 1/2 tablespoon tumeric powder.
- 1/2 tablespoon red chilly powder.
- 1/2 tablespoon cumin powder.
- 1/2 tablespoon coriander powder.
- 1/2 tablespoon cumin seeds.
- salt to taste.
- 1/4th tablespoon sugar. (optional).
- 4 tablespoon mustard oil.
METHOD-
- Marinate the fish pieces with salt, red chilly powder and turmeric powder.
- Heat a pan and add 4 tblspn mustard oil to it.
- Add the marinated fish into the oil.
- Fry both the sides till golden brown.
- Take it out into a plate.
- Add 1/2 tblspn cumin seeds into the remaining oil in the pan.
- Add chopped onions to it and fry till golden brown.
- Add ginger garlic paste and fry.
- Take a glass and add red chilly powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and salt into it.
- Add little water and mix them properly.
- Put it into the pan and stir continuously.
- Add green chillies and chopped tomatoes to it.
- Cook till the tomatoes get soft.
- Add 1 cup water into it and let it boil.
- Add 1/4 th tblspn sugar into it.
- Mix them properly.
- Add the fried fish pieces into it.
- Cover the lid and cook for 15 minutes in low flame.
- Uncover the lid and add coriander leaves and garam masala powder to it.
- Mix gently.
- Serve hot and enjoy the taste.
SUGGESTIONS-
- Make some cuts on the body of the fish and fry, as it helps to soak the masalas.
- Heat the oil in high flame before adding the fish to it.
- Make a masala paste in a separate glass/bowl as it gives a great colour to your recipe.
- Garnish it with green chillies.
